LeBron has had one of the most successful careers in the NBA. The numerous records under his name, a long-standing career of 20+ years, and an enviable network, King James has had it all. Coming straight out of high school to join the league in 2003, LeBron managed to forever remain a “kid from Ohio”.
The King of Akron was 1st overall pick in the NBA draft in 2003, the same age as Bronny is right now, 19. The Cleveland Cavaliers rookie was making all the right noise in the basketball world. But was he making enough money as his son?
He was making $4,018,290 as a rookie with the Cavs. Although that’s a lot of money for a 19-year-old, LeBron’s earnings fall short of his son’s. NIL has managed to change the monetary aspect of college and high school athletes. NIL stands for name, image, and likeness, and NCAA accepted it in 2021. Since then, college and high school athletes have been able to monetize their earnings, even as amateur or semi-professional athletes. Thanks to NIL, Bronny James now has a net worth of over $5.9 million. Fairly above the kind of salary his father was making as a rookie.
Bronny is the highest-paid athlete in NIL valuation. On top of that, he is also the most followed on social media with 13.5 million combined followers.
