The Houston Rockets are closing their 6-game streak, including their road trip this Wednesday, all set to play against the New York Knicks. Madison Square Garden will light up as the 2 resilient teams come together, up for a challenge for the Rockets as they are trying to get back to their 0.500 mark after their failed 19-20 record after Monday’s defeat against the 76ers (124-115). It’s truly been a difficult few matches for the Rockets, playing far away from the Toyota center as they are 1-4 on the ongoing trip, and 4-14 in overall 18 games.

The Knicks, on the other hand, have a decent season ongoing for them. They’re currently ranked 7th in the Eastern Conference with 23 wins and 17 losses. But will their star player, Jalen Brunson, stand up for the team tonight for another win? It’s a major question in the fans’ minds since he’s been out of the picture for the past 2 games owing to his injury. Fans hope he will be back with another standout performance tonight!

Jalen Brunson suffered a contused left calf injury during their match against the Dallas Mavericks. Due to that, he has already missed two matches and according to the injury report, he might miss a third one as his status for the Rockets match is questionable.

Although when the 27-year-old guard is on the court, his dominance is majestic. Currently, he has played 38 games this season and is averaging 25.8 points, 3.8 rebounds, 6.4 assists, and 1.0 steals per game while shooting 46.9% from the field and 42.4% from the three-point range.

So, he is the offensive powerhouse of the Knicks, and his replacement for the past two matches has been the 23-year-old rookie Miles McBride. In his latest match against the Orlando Magic, he did his best and put up 20 points. However, even then, the Knicks suffered a major 98-94 loss. The sad part of that game is the Big Apple was leading throughout the game but after they missed two free throws, they lost the lead and the match.

Despite doing pre-game warm-ups, Brunson did not feel comfortable enough to compete in the last match against the Magic. Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau points out that Brunson’s comeback is dependent on his pain tolerance, and that he is showing an encouraging improvement. So now the injury is more of a discomfort than a fear of getting injured again. Thibodeau even mentioned that “I trust him. When he’s ready to go, he’ll let us know,” and supposedly he has because according to an insider, Brunson can make his comeback tonight.
