Rich Paul and LeBron James have known each other for over two decades. Their relationship is both financial and personal. Therefore, the two know each other in multiple ways. Both personalities are transcendent in their own rights. While LBJ has built an unparalleled body of work as an athlete, Paul’s sports agency Klutch Sports has changed the contract game. Paul’s business acumen has attracted the likes of Draymond Green, who has consistently showered the game-changer with praise.

Since he enjoys a terrific reputation among NBA players, he has been in the limelight and has appeared in many interviews. He went to Shannon Sharpe’s YouTube show Club Shay Shay and talked about some double standards he has faced.

Paul has faced allegations of getting a platform just because of LeBron James. However, testimonies by players like Draymond Green indicate that it is Paul’s personality that makes him a magnet. Therefore, the Klutch Sports Founder can be offended when his own achievements are only attributed to his connection with LBJ.

People believe that James not only gave him opportunities, but also gave him financial assistance. While there may have been incidents of some help, the four-time MVP has a reputation for being “cheap”.

According to fellow billionaire Warren Buffet, this is him being “savvy”. While the Forward may be frugal, he need not worry about money that much since he is the only active billionaire. As his buddy Dwyane Wade once said, he is the cheapest guy in the league. Therefore, it is unlikely that he’d just hand over the money to even his close friend.

When it came to the matter of having financial assistance from the legendary NBA player, the agent had a clear-cut answer. On his show Club Shay Shay, Sharpe asserted that LeBron James “invested in an opportunity” when it comes to Paul. He didn’t know whether he also supplied him with financial help. Replying to this, Paul revealed, “LeBron never gave me a dime”.

Then he questioned the double standards that he has to face.

He then opined, ”That’s what they want to put out there. But they didn’t say that about Jeff Schwartz, they didn’t say about Aron Telum, they didn’t say that about Mark Bartelstein. What you think happened with them? What you think happened?

He implies that all these top agents represented top-tier talent and built a huge name in sports agencies. Nobody questioned their ascension as people who needed help like him to get up. But his own rise is put under the lens.

Therefore, Paul claims that, like the other top agents, LBJ deemed him fit to become his agent. It means that he brings those skills to the table. His words make a lot of sense because even Green, who has been James’ nemesis in Playoffs has had huge respect for the agent.
