As the trade deadline is around the corner, experts and insiders give out crucial information about the league’s future. In that lineup, the Boston Celtics, one of the most successful teams of the season, also have a probable trade coming up in their pipeline. Interestingly, the Boston side is one of the most settled sides of this season, comfortably stepping into the second half of the season with a 28-7 record. But, a recent report revealed that the team might seek help from Toronto Raptors to strengthen their Kristaps Porziņģis-led front court.

Stepping into the 2023-24 season, the Celtics lost two of their trusted prospects. Star point guard Marcus Smart had an emotional exit, as the management pulled off a sudden trade with the Memphis Grizzlies. While the NBA world expected the team to crumble, the team roped in Jrue Holiday, just before the season opener. Now that the Celtics side look balanced in both offense and defense, the front office eyes another inclusion to strengthen the front court.

Celtics plans to further strengthen the offense

The Celtics’ head coach Joe Mazzulla has had a unique approach when it comes to rotating his bench this season. In the initial part of the season, fans hardly witnessed any bench minutes. Mazzulla opted to use only four players of the bench and kept the main team, play the garbage minutes. However, lately, the team has been on the hunt to find back-ups for their front court.

Jake L Fischer, a senior reporter at Yahoo Sports, recently shed some light on the Celtics’ upcoming possible trade. In a recent interview, he said, “The Celtics will definitely would look to find a couple of other guys… the front court behind Porzingis and Al Horford.” Fischer also revealed that the team has less purse value remaining to rope in a good player, hence, they have to let go of a ‘good’ player.

Following that, he dropped an important bite, where he revealed to a player that the Celtics’ have been looking to rope in for a while. It was the Toronto Raptors’ power forward Chris Boucher.

Boucher has had a decent season so far, coming off the bench for the Raptors, averaging 6.2 points in his 14-minute game time.

Unfortunately, the Celtics might have a serious problem in their hand, as they look to strengthen their Porzingis-led offense.

The Celts might be in trouble

Hours after Jake L Fischer stated the Celts’ hunt for a power forward, Kristaps Porzingis sustained a grave injury. During the Saturday night game against the Indiana Pacers, Porzingis got his eyes poked during an attempt to grab the loose ball.

This unfortunate incident occurred during the start of the first quarter, and the 7 ‘2 star left the court immediately for medical attention. Later, the star missed the remainder of the game. The severity of the injury is still unclear. Stay tuned for further updates.
