The Golden State Warriors find themselves in a challenging position, currently three games below the .500 mark and occupying the 12th spot in the Western Conference standings. Their current form is nothing short of abysmal, as the team has only secured three wins in the last ten games. After a huge win against the Chicago Bulls, the Warriors tried to hang in against the Milwaukee Bucks but ultimately succumbed to a 129-118 defeat in a tightly contested matchup. Notably, the Dubs were without their offensive juggernaut, Stephen Curry, and defensive stalwart, Draymond Green. However, now sitting on the outskirts of the West, the Warriors are eager to bounce back and secure a win as they head to Memphis on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

The Warriors must rediscover their rhythm to salvage their championship hopes. Luckily, they are facing a depleted Grizzlies team tonight. However, given their dismal form, they’ll need all the cards in the deck if they hope for a win in today’s showdown. So, will Stephen Curry and Draymond Green return to action to lead the team past the shorthanded Grizzlies?

Stephen Curry is the only player from the Warriors’ championship form who has been able to retain his former form. Klay Thompson has seen flashes of brilliance but still hasn’t been able to maintain consistency. Ejections and suspensions have marred Green’s season, while Andrew Wiggins continues to struggle. Given the load on Curry in the past few games, the team decided to rest him due to a back-to-back situation, and the result was a loss against the Bucks. However, the Warriors’ leader is off the injury report and is expected to join the lineup once again.

There is positive news on the Draymond Green front as well. According to Shams Charania of The Athletic, Dray is expected to take the court tonight after missing the last 16 games due to his infinite suspension for hitting Phoenix Suns’ center Jusuf Nurkic.

However, the Warriors will miss the services of Moses Moody (calf), Chris Paul (hand), and Gary Payton II (left hamstring) in tonight’s game versus the Grizzlies. Therefore, they are expected to start the game with – Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Klay Thompson, Andrew Wiggins, and Kevon Looney.

The Grizzlies enter the contest riddled with injuries

On the other side of the court, the Grizzlies are decimated with injuries. Just when they were starting to find their groove, Ja Morant sustained a season-ending labrum tear in his right shoulder. Additionally, they will also be without their second star, Desmond Bane, who is expected to miss at least six weeks due to a left ankle sprain. Adding to the injury woes, Jaren Jackson Jr. (knee) is also listed as questionable for Monday’s game against the Warriors. Jake LaRavia (left ankle), Santi Aldama (knee), Marcus Smart (finger), Derrick Rose (thigh), Brandon Clarke (Achilles), and Steven Adams (knee) are all ruled out for tonight’s matchup.
