The much-awaited day of the NBA world has finally arrived, the regular season opener. The defending champions Denver Nuggets take on the Los Angeles Lakers in their home court. While it may seem like a repeat of the 2023 Western Conference Finals, the LA fans see it as revenge time. The Lakers’ newest rivals, the Nuggets, swept them in the Conference Finals with a 4-0 record for an embarrassing loss. Importantly, will the Lakers use their maximum cylinders in the opening game? To be more precise, will LeBron James and Anthony Davis play in tonight’s game? Let’s find out.

During the preseason, King James took a cautious call to play only minimum games to keep himself fit throughout the season. On the other hand, Davis, who missed the majority of the games in last season due to an ankle injury, has been a bit of concern for the fans. However, the duo showed promising signs during the preseason games, warming up on the court.

The Lakers have one of the most dynamic roster in the league. The team consists of multiple players who make it to the starting lineup. For instance, Rui Hachimura, Gabe Vincent, and Christian Wood. However, the fans eyes are always locked in on the superstars of the game, LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

As of yet, there is no report on the availability of the stars. Moreover, they are off the injury scare radar ahead of the game. The team also released a promo video of the team, making their first travel of the season. Notably, AD and Bron were seen boarding the air craft in their best drip.

The Lakers seemed to be in a safer spot with a healthy team before taking on the Nuggets. However, the team also has two injured players in the roster.

Injury report ahead of the season opener

According to the ESPN, two Lakers players and three Nuggets stars may miss out on the opening game due to injuries. In the Lakers corner, 17th overall pick Jalen Hood-Schifino and Jarred Vanderbilt are missing out on opening. Vanderbilt is out because of heel injury, while the reason behind Hood-Schifino’s injury isn’t clear. In the Nuggets corner, Vlatko Cancar, Julian Strawther, and Jay Huff will miss the game.
