The NBA All-Star weekend has been pretty interesting so far. With all the main skills challenges such as the Slam Dunk contest and the three-point shooting already over, fans can expect to be more than flabbergasted at the main event, the All-Star game. Here, the best players from the Eastern and Western Conferences face off and put their skills on display. However, another significant tradition of the weekend is the half-time show and even this year the line-up looks solid.

A few weeks ago the NBA announced that Jenifer Hudson, the youngest EGOT winner, will feature in a musical act alongside Indiana native Babyface. Babyface and Canadian Juno Award-winning singer Charlotte Cardin will sing the U.S. and Canadian national anthem, respectively, ahead of the NBA All-Star Game. Other acts will include global sensations, such as Keith Urban and Zedd.

However, that’s not all, folks. Multi-platinum Grammy award-winning rap legend and certified legend Lil Wayne will also perform at the NBA halftime show with fellow hip-hop icon T-pain. Interestingly, Wayne had put on two hats this weekend as he also was the assistant coach for Stephen A. Smith’s team in the Celebrity game. Unfortunately, though, his team ended up losing to Shannon Sharpe’s team, which was also being coached by a hip-hop legend 50 Cent.

How did the other events go at the All-Star Weekend?

First and foremost, the Stephen Curry vs. Sabrina Ionescu showdown went as many had expected. Curry won the matchup. However, to Ionescu’s credit, she barely lost with 26 points and Steph won with 29. On the other hand, the other challenges both had repeat winners. Damian Lillard won the three-point shooting contest like last year. One notable difference was that Trae Young gave him stiff competition, losing by just two points.

On the other hand, the Slam Dunk contest also has a repeat winner in Mac McClung. This year, he faced the Celtic Star, Jaylen Brown, who came close to winning but couldn’t quite pull it off. The Pacers’ very own Tyrese Haliburton won the Skills Challenge.

Last, but not least, the NBA Rising Stars tournament, a category where fans thought they would see Victor Wembanyama lift the trophy, ended up being an upset. Here too, McClung was at the forefront, sending Team Pau Gasol home in the semi-finals. With only hours remaining for the All-Star game, who do you think is going to be the MVP this time?
