Drake and his love for NBA stars is known vividly. He loves keeping his fans hooked with incredible ways he incorporates the legends, lyrical brilliance, and catchy tunes. This time around, he’s done something similar. In his latest album, ‘For All the Dogs’, he roped in none other than the Slim Reaper – Kevin Durant.

For All The Dogs is OVO’s eighth studio album. Hit list tracks such as 21 Savage, J. Cole, and Bad Bunny are all a part of the track. Like any other album, this also included a special NBA shoutout. “Me and KD ’bout to turn up the art,” he said in one of his songs. He also toured around with several NBA stars, bringing the likes of Jayson Tatum, Durant, and LeBron James on the stage during his last tour. Surprisingly, Durant’s role was more than just being a guest appearance and an inspiration behind Drake’s lyrics.

Drake has arguably become the biggest sensation in the entertainment industry. Especially for athletes, he is a part of many players’ pre-game playlists. Several NBA stars have expressed using his tunes to motivate them before games. But not many share a bond with the singer. But Durant is an exception.

For his new album, the Slim Reaper was listed as an AR (artists and repertoire). As per the description, it’s a title given to someone who helps to scout for talent and ensure the creative development of such artists.

At the NBA All-Star media day, questions about Drake’s album and his contributions were prevalent. Kevin Durant explained how he helps the record-breaking music artist stay level-headed by just always being available. His always being there for Drake is what landed him the AR role on his new album. “Whenever Drake just wants to talk about life, I’m there for him and he just gave me that title”, said the Suns forward.

Just as that happened, Durant made his debut as an artist. He worked alongside Stalley to release ‘Scared Money’, his first song as a singer. Durant’s wordplay and rhythm were noticed by NBA fans. There were mixed reactions, most being positive. When asked about an album, Kevin Durant laughingly said he doubts he will ever drop an album like his fellow NBA peers like Damian Lillard or even Shaq.
