Bam Adebayo has a new fan! The Miami forward just got the seal of approval of the legendary, albeit controversial NFL veteran. As the Miami Heat and the Los Angeles Lakers face off for the first time in the 2023-24 season, OJ Simpson sat down for a chat. One of his favorite picks from both the teams was Bam Adebayo.
While he did acknowledge the greatness of Anthony Davis, he claimed to like Bam for a particular character trait of his. The reason why he likes him has less to do with his actual skills on the court.

The Former American football running back spoke to rappers Cam’Ron and Ma$e, hosts of the podcast, “It Is What It Is”. When talking about tonight’s game and who they would pick as their favorite, Simpson said, “I like tough, I’m going with Bam cause I like tough. I think your boy (Davis) is maybe more dangerous offensively when he’s on but Bam is tough, man and I like tough.”

While this may be a personal choice, analysts and fans would disagree with him. When talking based on the statistics, AD is just much better than Adebayo. As an integral part of the Lakers’ roster, Anthony’s contributions to the team are immense. On the other hand, Bam is still working his way through Miami’s ranks.
But how have these two compared when facing off before?

In the last seven times that the two teams have played each other, AD leads with 30.4 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 3.7 assists between the two. With the six games each has played this season, Davis is averaging 26.3 points, 13 rebounds, and a career-high 3.7 blocks. Adebayo, on the other hand, is averaging 21.4 points as the third option on offense. So, statistically speaking, Anthony is the more talented of the two. But it is understandable that Simpson chose Bam more for the toughness in his character trait.
