The 2023 NBA offseason saw some major moves, changing the dynamics of both the Eastern and the Western Conference. While the Damian Lillard trade to the Milwaukee Bucks took most of the headlines, one trade went under the radar. 2022 NBA champion Jordan Poole left Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors to play for the Washington Wizards. Along with LeBron James’ former teammate, Kyle Kuzma, the Wizards have an exciting duo to watch out for.
It seems like it is not only the fans who are excited to see both of them play together. 2008 NBA champion and NBA legend, Kevin Garnett, showed a lot of faith in the two stars, which left both Poole and Kuzma elated.

There is an air of excitement in Washington. Although their biggest star of the past few seasons, Bradley Beal, left to join the Phoenix Suns, they got Jordan Poole to fill in his shoes.
He has instantly struck a connection with Kyle Kuzma. The two are just four years apart and they seem to be great friends, both on and off the court. Boston Celtics legend Kevin Garnett believes that they are the next big thing. Talking on the K.G Certified show on Showtime, the former MVP asserted that Kuzma and Poole are “the new duo in the league”. Such huge praise from your idols is an instant confidence booster for any rising player in the league. The same was for Jordan Poole who was on cloud nine.
“I remember watching K.G. growing up. Him just being the dominant player and the person he was, just how passionate he is. To hear him say that, it’s just dope just because it shows he obviously believes in the talent I have”, said Poole as per Monumental Sports Network.
Coming out of the shadow of Stephen Curry is a huge thing
Jordan Poole played an integral role in the Warriors’ brilliant 2022 title-winning campaign. However, most of the laurels went to four-time NBA champion Stephen Curry.
This will be the first time Poole will not be under the shadow of the 2016 unanimous MVP. It seems like he is embracing the new role. “I just think that’s how me and Kuz are going to be in tune in terms of our chemistry on the court. This will be the first time that I’ve ever been able to have like a duo, a tandem,” said Poole.
