Ayesha Curry got a rude awakening during her weight-loss “competition” with her NBA star husband Stephen Curry. The celebrity author recently lost 35lbs after she came to terms with the differences in both of their lifestyles. The Warriors‘ point guard has to stay at the top of his form because it comes with the profession. Ayesha on the other hand does not have to pour all her energy into maintaining an athletic figure. But despite differences in their lifestyle, the power couple aspires to ease out some pressures from the world.

The mother of three lately stated that her husband’s workout routine or diet is not her fitness journey. She had to make sure to enjoy life’s celebratory moments and making healthier choices in between. She also got the best results when she learned to “loosen up a little“.

Stephen Curry and Ayesha’s Social Endeavor

The Curry couple’s Eat.Learn.Play offers three nutritious meals a day, books to read, and encourages an active lifestyle. The initiative for their charity organization was born out of need. But now, the couple is attending another crisis at hand – social media.

In a sit down interview with Now.Toronto, Ayesha shared her worries, “This generation has the added pressures of having social media and seeing all of the wealth and success and it’s glaring you in your face. It starts to become more of a hindrance and it can become depressing.”

There’s a lot that needs to change, Ayesha said, “and how we can help is tackling that food insecurity. It will be our lifelong mission.

Curry’s future game plan

The power couple are only in their 30s and they have already created waves of change. But, they are just getting started. In addition to their charity, the duo also support various organizations. Ayesha has been very involved in the No Kid Hungry organization for years.

In a Zoom call with a staff writer at Inside Philanthropy, Ayesha says that she plans on using her Instagram as a platform for advocating policy change. She has already given a virtual testimony in front of the House Rules Committee.
