Sports lovers witness the influence of a global icon like Stephen Curry in various facets of games. Recently, Sabrina Ionescu showcased it publicly once again as she gut-punched A?ja Wilson in the WNBA finals. In the defeat of the Las Vegas Aces, the 25-year-old mimicked the NBA superstar following her endeavor on the court.

Sabrina stole the show in the high voltage final series as her team registered a victory. In a potential turning point of the series, she called forth the Splash Brother energy.

The New York Liberty was in dire need of something magical in the finals series against the Aces. They entered their home court with a 2-0 deficit, with the aim of turning things around for the franchise. Things worked out as Ionescu scored a clutch three-pointer, before imitating Curry’s ‘night-night’ celebration.

The Liberty won the third game as A?ja’s side looked short of answers during the match. Sabrina ran the show on the court with 11 assists, despite failing to score many baskets throughout the game. Still, she delivered the final blow with her three before showing respect to the NBA’s all-time leading three-point scorer.

It was not the first time the 5’11 point guard had mimicked the 4-time champion. She did so last year too after Stephen made the celebration famous in recent times. Her antics had previously caught the attention of the audience and this time around, there was no exception either. The fans saw the gesture from the WNBA star as they reacted to it later on.

How did the viewers react to the celebration?

The majority of the supporters loved her confidence in the clutch moments of a crucial match. One of them applauded her confidence, stating, “She’s him,”?drawing comparisons between two icons of the game.

A few started to acknowledge her as the greatest of all time to do it. One in particular showcased the support with the infamous emojis of GOATs.

A Golden State Warriors fan account followed in soon as he wrote, “Goat sh*t”.

With various cheering for Sabrina, a few went after her as they called her out for imitating the Warriors talisman. One supporter mentioned that the celebration looked “cooler on Steph” to mock her.

 

Another did the same with his comment, “Your not him buddy”.
