The star left-handed guard returned to his childhood park with a special purpose. Los Angeles Lakers star D’Angelo Russell announced a massive upgrade to the park that made him the star that he is now. Russell visited his hometown, Louisville, alongside his sister, Cloee Russell, to address the community. The 28-year-old not only addressed the people but also donated $100k to a 16.4-acre park for the future of the kids.
In his 9-season-long career, Russell has played for four teams and managed to crack lucrative deals. Currently, the star returned to the Lakers fold with an average pay of $18 million per year. After coming out of a humble background, the star made himself an empire in the NBA world. D’Lo even opened up about the struggles he faced, playing in the community park in childhood. Now, after making it big, the star decided to give back to the community.
Russell took to his IG stories and showcased the snippets of the event. He reported Louisville Scoop’s story, and the caption read, “Good things happening in the community. Thank you to @dloading and team for giving 100k back to the Algonquin neighborhood.”
