It is not uncommon to see athletes putting their careers in jeopardy with their off-court antics. After Ja Morant’s twenty-five-game suspension for his firearm stunt on social media and Kyrie Irving’s five-game suspension for his antisemitic post, another NBA player has followed suit.
Charlotte Hornets center Kai Jones’s recent assertions have garnered a barrage of criticism from fans and analysts. Amid all the noise, Kai Jones has received another blow as Michael Jordan‘s ex-team dropped a massive bombshell on the 2021 first-round pick.

Following a successful NBA career, MJ decided to take it one step further by owning majority stakes in the Hornets. However, he decided to end his 13-year tenure as the majority owner with the Hornets last month. But it seems like his departure has left the team in disarray.
According to Roderick Boone and Scott Fowler of the Charlotte Observer, Kai Jones’ status on the team is “murky” ahead of the training camp that will get underway in October. The 2021 first-round pick has been a no-show during the voluntary sessions for players.
