The trade deadline is at a two-week mark upcoming on February 8, and the Magic City is making its moves. The Heat are exploring options for their 37-year-old veteran point guard Kyle Lowry as his performance is on a decline averaging 8.2 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game. However, due to his expiring cap hitting $29.7 million, he could be utilized as a trade piece to get in a player with a bigger contract to strengthen their team. And one of those players who the Heat are eying is the Lakers’ target, Terry Rozier.

Earlier, rumors suggested that the Lakers would trade their former All-Star D’Angelo Russell for the Rozier and pair him up with Austin Reaves. However, looking at their recent success with D’Lo, the Lakers might give this move a hard thought although it might be too late as the NBA insider Greg Sylvander revealed Terry Rozier coming to the Miami Heat is a “very real possibility,” and could happen very soon as the trade deadline is only weeks away.

The 29-year-old point guard is having one of the best seasons of his career averaging  23.6 points and 6.7 assists per game which are both career-highs for him. As his team, the Queen City is on a decline and wants to rebuild, trading him away could get them a valuable asset for the future. Currently, the Miami Heat are on a three-game losing streak and need a point guard who can score big for them. Due to Kyle Lowry’s struggles at the offensive end, the team is struggling to find points, and looking at Rozier’s current season’s performance, he can be the answer to their problems. His ability to score frequently adds a powerful element to the Heat’s offense, addressing their current 26th-place in points per game.

In the absence of their star players like Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo, Rozier will emerge as a possible third or fourth offensive option who can step up when necessary. Most importantly, his addition improves the team’s perimeter shot-creation, providing the team with an important scoring threat.
