Ja Morant is slowly turning the Memphis Grizzlies’ season around. After an abysmal 6-19 start to the season, the Grizzlies are 7-4 since Ja’s return from suspension. Memphis has a long way to go before they get into the playoff picture, but they have a lot of hope from their superstar. But just when things were starting to pick up for the Grizzlies, they suffered another major setback. Ja Morant missed the last game against the Phoenix Suns because of shoulder soreness.

The Grizzlies are scheduled to face Luka Doncic and Co. tomorrow. Let’s find out if the 2-time All-Star will be available against the Mavs as the Grizzlies receive a concerning update ahead of tomorrow’s game.

According to the latest injury report by the Memphis Grizzlies, Ja Morant has been ruled out of tomorrow’s game because he is still suffering from shoulder soreness. Ja has not fully recovered from his shoulder issues. It is uncertain when he will return to action. That is a massive blow for the Memphis Grizzlies squad because Ja has been their best player since his return. In the 9 games Ja has played this season, he has averaged 25.1 points, 8.1 assists and 5.6 rebounds. Ja’s presence on the court brings a new energy to the Grizzlies squad.

Apart from the concerning update about Ja’s injury, the Grizzlies received more bad news in the latest injury report. Their 2023 DPOY Jaren Jackson Jr. is questionable for tomorrow’s game due to a knee contusion. He has been in elite form this season, averaging 21.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks.

Grizzlies power forward Santi Aldama’s status is also doubtful because of a knee contusion.

Can the Grizzlies beat Luka Doncic and Co. without Morant?

It will be extremely tough for the Grizzlies to beat the Dallas Mavericks without Ja Morant. The Mavs have been in incredible form recently, and their superstars, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving, are playing at an All-Star level. But there is a chance that the Grizzlies might sneak a win over the Mavs. They did it in the last game against the Phoenix Suns, and Ja missed that game as well. Memphis beat Kevin Durant and Co. 121-115, as 4 Grizzlies players scored 19+ points.

The Grizzlies will need another impressive team effort to get a win over Luka Doncic and Co. Their secondary superstars Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart, and Jaren Jackson Jr. have been in elite form recently. And they will look to continue their form in tomorrow’s game. Hopefully, Jaren Jackson Jr. will be cleared to play tomorrow, as the Grizzlies cannot afford to miss two of their star players.
