It has been reported by the Dallas Morning News‘ Brad Townsend that Coach Kidd is dealing with a non-COVID illness, which will require him to stay home for the time being. In the meantime, Assistant Coach Sean Sweeney will take over temporarily and lead the team into the pregame shootarounds and warm-ups.
In fact, this is not the first time that Sean has stepped in for Kidd, who, two years ago had to miss several games while dealing with COVID-related problems. It is unsure when Kidd will return, but we can only be hopeful for a quick recovery.
