Former football tight end Shannon Sharpe has been on the bucket list of everyone lately. The 3x Super Bowl champion is currently a Sports media free agent and appears on the ESPN First-Take. Not only does he appear on ESPN, but he also has his podcast, “Club Shay Shay” where he racks millions of views. He is a hot favorite not only for people from his sport but also for other sporting organizations. Like Triple H, the WWE’s Chief Content Officer who wants him to make an appearance on his show.
Even the former All-Star D’Angelo Russell who recently started a podcast called the “Backyard Podcast,” spoke about him. He said he wants Shannon Sharpe as a guest on his podcast not to know about his illustrious football career but about his life.

D’Angelo Russell was asked by one of his teammates as to who he wants as a guest on his show to which Russell named Shannon Sharpe. However, he explained as to how he would collaborate with him and said if he were to come on his show he wouldn’t talk to him about his illustrious football career but would like to know him as a person. He said, “I remember we was talking about doing this s*it with guests that we was going to dig in this s*it. Like not toxic s*it, but like what was your thought process, what was your mentality, what was your mind at when you got to that flow state.”
So, even though Shannon Sharpe is a Hall of Famer who has played for 14 years in the NFL and had an amazing football journey, DLo wishes to know his mentality and his “flow state” instead of knowing his glory time. This shows that Russell is not interested in knowing the person who left a mark on the NFL but the personality who suffered through that journey and made it all that possible. And speaking about leaving a mark, even D’Angelo Russell managed to do that in the game against the Toronto Raptors.
