The Los Angeles Lakers sealed a statement win over the Milwaukee Bucks last night. LeBron James was forced to sit out the game due to a sore ankle, an injury that caused him to walk off against the Kings in their close loss a few sleeps ago. Moreover, Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard were projected to rain misery on the Purple and Gold. However, they flipped the tables. Rather it was D’Angelo Russell who flipped it for them.

He played fearlessly and with utmost confidence in his sweet southpaw shot. It was a sight to behold for the crowd. Russell knocked down nine threes en route to his 44-point winning performance. The match saw an even more dramatic turn, as the newest Laker Spencer Dinwiddie unleashed a buzzer-beater block on Damian Lillard to prevent another game-winner from the veteran point guard.

The Lakers swarmed the court, embracing Dinwiddie after he shut down Lillard. The Bucks had been taken down without the King standing to defend the castle. Surprisingly, while the LAL camp was celebrating the nail-biter, Shannon Sharpe, an avid supporter of James and the Lakers was disappointed with the outcome.

Lakers fan Shannon Sharpe was furious with himself for this one reason

Sharpe might have been destined to be a Denver Broncos legend. But since turning into an NBA analyst, the three-time Super Bowl champion has revealed his appreciation for ‘GOAT’ James as he calls him. Rightfully so, he has been an advocate for the Lakers all season. It’s been a stumbly road this far, but the thrilling win against the Bucks was probably a defining moment in the season.

They had trumped the joint second seed in the East, and done it without their best player on the floor. It showcased their depth, and the capability of the roster and was a nod to their spirit. Sharpe should have been jubilated. Instead, he was cursing himself.

Why?

Sharpe had given up his tickets for the game. Instead of witnessing the enthralling finish from his home, he could have been at the arena, cheering for the Lakers and trying to diminish the Bucks. His passion is well-documented when watching James and the Lakers. Sadly, he missed out on a golden chance to not only let his antics loose but also join the wave of celebrations.

At least he will get to brag about the win in front of his colleague Stephen A. Smith during First Take. Even then, it’s going to be a challenge to recover from such a loss. It’s totally different from losing an NFL game. Sharpe has to bask in the pain of missing an experience.
