The Los Angeles Lakers? three-game win streak was just brought to an end at the hands of the Sacramento Kings. A disappointing loss for the Lakers and an even harder pill for the fans to swallow. Many were quick to blame the Lakers? big man, Anthony Davis, but Austin Reaves quickly came to his rescue.
After his performance against the Grizzlies, Davis seemed to be in his bag and ready to take on the Kings. Unfortunately, he had an abysmal performance, but Austin Reaves made sure to take some of the heat off of AD.

Anthony Davis finished the game with 9 points in the 125-110 loss to the Kings. He had 9 rebounds and 1 assist in the 35 minutes he was out on the hardwood floor. And after having a season-high of 6 blocks in his previous game, Davis let Domantas Sabonis light him up for a monstrous performance. Davis may not have been effective on the offensive end, but his defense was as abysmal as it could get. This led to?the internet exploding over AD?s poor performance.
That is when Austin Reaves quickly became his savior. After the game, Reaves said, “Everybody else around AD could do more to help AD. Not that he necessarily needs it, but just to make his life easier… I’ll have to go back and watch the game to see what we could’ve done better around him.”

On any good night, there is nothing that Davis can do wrong for the team. Just his previous game, Davis had a solid game, but what stood out was his 6 blocks that made the paint a nightmare for the Grizzlies.
The same presence was expected from him, but instead, Davis got lit up instead.
Davis’ performance against another talented big
Anthony Davis? stats and effort for the game against the Sacramento Kings were sub-par. But what made it even worse was the fact that Domantas Sabonis did not hold back and went on to drop a big double-double on Davis.

Sabonis finished the game with 29 points, 16 rebounds and 7 assists. While Austin Reaves may have been right in the fact about helping Davis, he wasn?t able to do much against the Kings, either.
Reaves too had 9 points but made up for it in assists and rebounds. He managed to grab 11 rebounds and stack up 8 assists for the game. If only Reaves had taken on more of a scoring role, the Lakers may have been able to come out on top.
Los Angeles will face off against the Portland Trail Blazers next. Let?s hope AD can get his groove back.
