LeBron James ranks his Favorite Sneakers

LeBron James signed with Nike even before he stepped foot on an NBA court. He signed a 7-year $87 million deal with the sneaker brand in 2003 when he was just a teenager. LeBron’s famous quote, “I’m a Nike guy”, after signing with the multi-billion dollar brand in 2003, has become an iconic statement. The Los Angeles Lakers Superstar took his partnership with Nike one step further in 2015 when he signed a lifetime deal with the brand for a whopping $1 Billion. Entering his 21st NBA season, LeBron has released 21 renditions of his sneakers with Nike.

 

LeBron James sat with Bleacher Report Kicks for a quick interview where he blindly ranked the top 5 shoes from his Nike sneaker line. Having released 21 different shoes in multiple colorways, it would be quite a task for LeBron to rank his top 5 sneakers. But The Akron Hammer did a brilliant job. He ranked LeBron 9 “Watch The Throne” at Number 2, followed by LeBron 10 Cork, “Miami Nights” LeBron 9 lows, and LeBron First Game, respectively. King James left the Number 1 spot for the iconic LeBron South Beach 8s.

LeBron James’ Number 1 Sneakers

LeBron picked the South Beach 8s in the Number 1 spot on his sneaker list. “It’s the best shoe of my line.” the 4-time Champion said. South Beach 8s are an iconic pair of sneakers because of their design and historic significance. The shoes were released right after LeBron’s infamous “Decision” in 2010. The Akron Hammer had become the biggest villain in the NBA after deciding to leave Cleveland and join forces with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh in Miami.

LeBron and Nike decided to steer into the skid and accepted his villain role by dropping the LeBron 8s in the “South Beach” colorway. The shoes were teal with pink laces, oozing Miami Vice vibes. With the release of the South Beach 8s, LeBron truly started the second chapter of his career, making the shoes his favorite among his 21 sneakers.
