Despite Irving and James not being on the same page, the two share history. Both NBA stars played together from 2014 through 2017.
But even with that, Brian Windhorst of ESPN said, “I will say this, I do think LeBron has an interest in playing with Kyrie Irving again. I think he likes the idea of playing with Kyrie, the concept of playing with Kyrie and Anthony Davis. I have long said the best big-man pairing that LeBron’s ever had, as far as pure fit, is Anthony Davis. I believe the best guard pairing LeBron’s ever had is Kyrie Irving.”
LeBron is still playing a top-rack game, with his past season stats being as smashing as they could be. He averaged 28.9 points, with 8.3 rebounds and 6.8 assists per game last season.
A brief timeline of the LeBron-Kryie Relationship
LeBron James and Kyrie played together from 2014 to 2017 for the Cleveland Cavaliers. Together, they have racked up a hundred and eighty-three games as players on the same team.
Their relationship has been a juggernaut, with all the twists and turns of a nail-biting NBA final.? It all started in 2016 when Kyrie Irving’s smashing three-pointer sealed the game for the Cavs.
Fans noticed something amiss when Kyrie Irving requested a trade after that and he went to the Boston Celtics and a one-for-five trade. That’s when the ‘unfollowing’ happened. Kyrie unfollowed King James on social media networks.

There have been other news reports of a possible rivalry between the two. In 2019, everything seemed to be sorted out, but it all went to pot in 2020, with rumors of the rivalry capturing the headlines once again.
On the court, though, LeBron and Kyrie have played three finals and won one of them during their 2016-2017 campaign. While the fans might be waiting for the duo to work their magic again, whether they will or not remains to be seen.
