With all the hype surrounding the ongoing NBA regular season, the focus of fans might have been diverted away from the NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament. The University of Southern California (USC), which was recently placed at the 11 seed of the Pac 12 Conference Table, was looking to built up their momentum. While much of the hope to do good relied upon NBA star LeBron James’ 19-year-old son Bronny, his recent performance did not satisfy many of the college basketball fans.

A few hours ago, Bronny James and his USC teammates faced off against the basketball team of the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The game was a disappointment for the young athlete as he managed to score only 2 points, 2 assists, and one rebound during the first half. While lady luck did not turn for Bronny, it did favor his team as USC eventually ended the game by defeating their rivals with a score of 62-56.

Bronny’s low score might not have been something that LeBron James expected. However, he was still happy with the fact that his son’s team managed to secure the win for themselves. Taking to his official X (formerly Twitter) account, the four-time NBA champion sent his flowers by writing “Great road W @USCBasketball_!!”

The Los Angeles Lakers star player has been a big supporter of his son’s basketball dreams. More than often he has expressed his wish to play alongside his son in an NBA game before he took his retirement. He has also stated, however, that the ultimate decision will fall upon his son entirely.

“It’s up to him, it’s up to the kid. We’re going to go through the whole process” said LeBron during an interview at the All-Star Weekend. “He’s still in season now. He has the Pac-12 tournament coming up. … We’re going to weigh all options and we’re going to let the kid make the decision”.

Bronny James’ performance at USC

Bronny James’ season with USC will be soon coming to a close, providing an opportunity for NBA fans to see just how the legend’s son has fared. While many people hold hope to see the father-son duo join hands at the ultimate stage of basketball, some of them allegedly wonder if Bronny will even be considered for the draft.

During the last 18 games that the younger James has played for USC, he has barely managed to average 5.7 points, 2.6 assists and 2.9 rebounds. He has only managed to shoot 36.5% from the floor and 27.5% from the deep end. While much of it might not have been entirely his fault, it is not a good look for an athlete who is looking to enter the draft possibly within the next few years.
