The documentary, however, has not only created recording-breaking success for Amazon Prime but has also touched the hearts and souls of fans.

“Bye Bye Barry” has gone down in streaming history as the most-watched documentary film ever on Prime Video in the United States. The achievement comes a little over two months following the sports documentary “Kelce” broke the same record. Not only records, however, but the documentary has also been able to touch the hearts of fans and athletes alike.

Lakers‘ LeBron James took to social media to show love to the former football player and wrote, “Up watching this Barry Sanders documentary and I’m getting hella emotional. This guy is simply INCREDIBLE!!!!” The Akron Hammer’s tweet not only shows how good the documentary is but also how much it resonated with him.

The film was released on the 21st of November and within no time reached Prime Video’s Top 10 domestic films. In this documentary, Sanders finally gave the audience the reason for this unexpected departure from the Lions in 1999. The reason depicts the complexity and circumstances that led to Sanders’ departure from the football world, providing viewers with a look into the person behind the football hero.
