The spotlight has always shined brighter on Bronny as compared to his peers. His association with LeBron James has made him one of the most highly anticipated prospects. However, on the fateful day of 24th July, 2023, many fans feared the worst, as Bronny collapsed during a practice session at the University of Southern California’s facilities. He was rushed to the Cedar-Sinai hospital, where he was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.

This prognosis led to widespread concern around Bronny’s well-being and the mental health of James’ family. However, just days later, the James family provided updates about Bronny’s health, alleviating the worries of many fans. The statement read, “We are very confident in Bronny’s full recovery and return to basketball in the very near future.”

Fortunately, Bronny made a full recovery and medical professionals cleared him to play basketball in late November. Just days later, Bronny made his collegiate debut for the USC Trojans against Long Beach State on 10th December. On his debut, Bronny recorded 4 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block in 16 minutes of playing time.
