With LeBron James in the twilight years of his career, the Los Angeles Lakers are looking to make the most of it. Though James has yet to show any major sign of slowing down, the team is going into a ‘win now’ mode to add another championship banner in their arena. And one of the biggest moves they made was signing a three-year/$186 million extension with Anthony Davis.

Despite his injury-riddled season, Anthony Davis is still a big part of the Lakers’ future. Recently, a decorated Lakers legend made sure to state some big expectations from AD going ahead.

The Los Angeles Lakers are going all in this offseason to build a team to compete for a championship. Apart from some of the free agent signings, the Lakers made sure to give their star, Anthony Davis a big extension.

Now, with Davis’ future with the franchise confirmed, Lakers legend James Worthy has some big expectations from him. Recently, James Worthy gave his take on what he expects from Davis in the upcoming season.

While talking, one of the co-hosts on a sports analysis show mentioned that Davis may be a top-three center behind Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid. That is when Worthy chimed in and said, “I think each year he’s had some injuries, but he still played more than a lot of other players who have been out.”

“But I think this year, he’s gotta have two things in mind. He’s gotta have Defensive Player in mind and he’s got to go for Most Valuable Player. He’s got to come with it.”

James Worthy certainly has some big expectations from Anthony Davis and rightfully so. Not only did the Lakers pay him big money but moreover, Davis has all the tools required to achieve what Worthy expects from him.

Jaren Jackson Jr. of the Memphis Grizzlies won the DPOY last year, and many were amazed that Davis got snubbed. But if he remains healthy going ahead, Davis is a considerable force on both sides of the floor.
