The Lakers Nation has something to cheer after their embarrassing loss against the defending champions last night. The LA Lakers‘ inconsistency continues to plague the season despite the presence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Meanwhile, the rest of the roster has constantly struggled with injuries which impacted the team’s progress this season.
Nevertheless, the team has a positive injury report. 24-year-old Cam Reddish, who has been out for several weeks with a knee injury, is likely to return to the court. The recent report revealed that he had cleared the tests conducted by the team doctors. Reddish is expected to join the team after the All-Star game.
From the team: “Cam Reddish has been cleared by team doctors to begin an on-court progression and ramp-up, with hopes of returning to game play following the NBA All-Star break.”

The rising star took care of the defense end of the court and played a crucial role on the side this season. But it didn’t last long as he was going on and off the court regularly with his knee issues.
Moreover, it is not just Reddish, but the story of the entire Lakers roster. Speaking about the injury woes, King James said following the loss against the Denver Nuggets, “Just health. Max (Christie) went down today and didn’t return to the game. So, our whole year has been about health.”
Another strange statistic reveals the contrast between the Lakers’ previous season and the current season. During the 2022-23 season, fans criticized James and AD for consistently missing games with injuries. However, in this season, the rest of the roster has missed a lot more games than the duo. 137 to be exact, if you add them all up.
As shocking as it sounds, the constant injuries have been the reason behind the team’s inconsistency in this season. If this prolongs, the team might eventually lose its chance at the ring.

The Lakers make zero moves ahead of the trade deadline
The trade deadline had arrived and passed by without making much noise. And the Lakers’ trade rumors remained rumors. One of the important rumors was about trading D’Angelo Russell for a star player. And the trade never took place.

Building up to the trade, the Lakers already had Cam Reddish, Jared Vanderbilt, and Gabe Vincent, recovering from their injuries. So instead of roping in new players, the return of their existing players from injury will only play as a major boost for the side.
However, Gabe Vincent and Jared Vanderbilt’s return is yet to be confirmed.
