The Dallas Mavericks will go head-to-head against the Utah Jazz tonight. Luka Doncic will look to continue his dominant form and get a win for his team. To make things easier for Luka, his co-star Kyrie Irving is making his highly anticipated return from injury tonight. Irving has not suited up for the Mavs since December 8 after Dwight Powell fell on his foot during a play against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Luka Doncic and Co. are 6-6 since Kyrie got injured. Luka has done his best to keep the Mavs afloat in Kyrie’s absence. He is having an MVP-caliber season, averaging 33.9 points, 9.3 assists, and 8.4 rebounds. Luka has led the Mavs to a 19-14 record and kept them at the 6th spot in the Western Conference standings. But the Mavs need Kyrie Irving back in the line-up to make a bigger impact this season.

Kyrie Irving’s redemption season continues
Before the injury, Kyrie Irving was having an incredible season. He was averaging 23 points and 5.2 assists for the Mavs and was a key contributor to their early season success. It looked like Kyrie had finally found a home after years of bouncing around from one team to another. Kyrie signed a 3-year $120 million contract during the off-season and began his redemption season with the Mavs. This is the first time in many years he has been out of drama and controversy and is strictly focused on playing basketball.
Kyrie will finally return to action tonight and hope to continue his redemption season. With three years in his hands, he has a chance to build something great in Dallas. Kyrie and Luka are one of the most lethal offensive duos in the league, and they can take over any game. With the way Luka has been playing so far and knowing what Kyrie can do when he is healthy, the Mavs have a legitimate chance at winning the Championship this season.
