The coveted success in competitive sports depends on much more than talent. Constant actions on and off the court that can extend a player’s longevity in the game are key contributing factors behind triumph. Amin Elhassan talked about Irving’s situation in detail with slightly more than a month left ahead of the upcoming season. In the recent episode of Oddball with Amin Elhassan & Charlotte Wilder,?he highlighted it in one segment of the show. He read out a bet,?“Kyrie Irving will miss more than half this season for whatever reason,”?before revealing his stand.
“I’m not taking that bet,” the former Suns’ executive responded, as the gamble contained a certain wager. Elhassan went against the bet, as he believed that the Dallas star would play more than half of the games in the coming season. He showed his faith in the 31-year-old initially, before eventually mocking him. The former NBA commentator sent an indirect warning on a potentially grave situation for Luka’s team. He jokingly mentioned, “He is playing at least 41 games,”?looking back at Kyrie’s injury record. This definitely raised an interesting question for the Mavericks.

He often misses out on playing matches due to on and off-court issues, with injuries being one of them. Despite that, he played less than 41 games a season only twice in his entire NBA career. Thus, the bet does not hold much value, taking his past into consideration. Still, the Mavs must do whatever they can to keep Kyrie fit. Otherwise, they are in for another rollercoaster of a season.
