Mark A. Jackson, who was the Houston Rockets point guard when he retired, coached Klay Thompson during his rookie season. The newbie Splash Brother was a quiet baller, mostly getting snug on the sidelines. In fact, Thompson was on the bench for most games, silently soaking it all in.?

In fact, the rookie never even said a word to Stephen Curry because he didn?t want to ruffle any feathers. He confessed how much he would have hated to ?step on the vet?s [Stephen Curry] toes.?

As a result, Thompson fell into the hands of Coach Jackson who began training the Golden State Warriors in 2011. It was the same year Thompson got drafted onto the team.?

On the podcast, Thompson says he had to face a lot of heat from the veteran coach during his rookie season. ?I?m like coach Jackson?s punching bag at times because I?m the rookie, which is fine like I could take it and it felt good coached up by Coach Jackson,? said the Warriors’ superstar.?

Thompson didn?t mind a little advice from his dear coach time and again. In fact, Thompson thought Mark Jackson was totally ?hilarious.? Jackson would have all these stories about his time in the league and would tell Thompson about it. Thompson laughingly said, ?He?s [Mark Jackson] from New York, so he only has one speed.?
