The Sacramento Kings took on the New Orleans Pelicans tonight, but a tragic incident marred the proceedings. A fan passed away during Monday night’s nationally televised game at Sacramento’s home arena. Initial reports indicated the fan was unresponsive. As the medics were called, the guest remained in that state. Despite the paramedics’ efforts to provide medical aid, they were unable to revive the victim.

After 20 minutes of CPR and attempts to resuscitate, the guest was declared deceased on the scene. The fan had attended the game with a family member, for whom a chaplain was called. The heartbreaking event occurred during the game’s first quarter.

In response to the tragic event, the Sacramento Kings issued a formal statement extending their deepest condolences to the grieving family members and loved ones. Jason Anderson, writer for the Kings, shed light on the release. Marc J Spears also shared the Kings’ statement in his post.

The Sacramento Metro Fire Department disclosed that the deceased guest was in his 30s. However, as of now, the cause behind the fan’s passing is not undisclosed. The Kings’ players did not know of the fans’ passing

In the somber atmosphere of the post-game press conference, players and coaches faced the media to discuss the tough loss. As Keegan Murray took the microphone, a reporter inquired about his and other team member’s awareness of the tragic incident. He stated, “Sadly, there was a death tonight in the arena… Were you guys aware of that at all on the bench? Did you hear about it at any point during the game? How do you react to something like that?”

Keegan responded by revealing that none of the players on the roster were aware of the fan’s passing. Expressing empathy for the family, he stated, “We weren’t aware of that at all. As a team, we give our condolences to the passing… Hopefully, the family is taken care of.”

It is an immensely sorrowful day for the Sacramento Kings, both the franchise and its fans. Due to the ongoing game and medics attending the fan, initial reports of the incident began circulating during the third quarter of the game.
