It is trendy in the NBA to discuss the Greatest of All Time (GOAT). While the NFL focuses on team-related set-ups, the NBA brands its individual superstars as crowd-pullers. Thus, in this vein, the debate of who is the best ever to do it draws a lot of traction. To discuss the one specific player being the greatest sum up how the league markets itself. Of course, most of the debate shifts to which of LeBron James and Michael Jordan is the GOAT.

So, it is natural that not just fans, but former and current NBA players themselves share their takes. In one such instance, a Celtics legend dived into the whole debate in his own way.

For those who watched MJ and LeBron James both, the wealth of knowledge about the two periods impacts their views. One such player is Kevin Garnett, who came to the league in 1995 and saw MJ for around five seasons. He had many battles against him. However, he saw even more of LeBron James. He then played for more than ten seasons and saw more of King James than His Airness. Sitting with GQ, he shared his thoughts on the difference between LBJ and MJ.

The unapologetic Forward shares, “Michael Jordan, I looked at as fu**ing God. And I thought he was my version of what basketball looked like. And with LeBron, it was more like the little homie.”.

The Forward had the habit of talking trash but received an early shock in his NBA career.
