Kevin Durant isn’t known for his humble responses. But that doesn’t mean that the All-Star forward lacks humbleness completely. The 6’10 forward who refers to himself as ‘God’ went on to give a reply in a similar manner when asked why he was included in a picture of the US Women’s soccer team.

The soccer team has been one of the most successful international women’s teams for quite some time. However, when Kevin Durant was included in the mix, fans were left dazed, leading the NBA star to give an unapologetic explanation.

The US Women’s soccer team qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and opened up with an absolute banger. The team went up against Vietnam and won the game with a final score of 3-0.

Given that the US Women’s soccer team has already won four FIFA titles out of the 8 times they have competed, the official page of USA Basketball went on to wish them luck for getting their fifth title.

However, in the image, Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant and WNBA star Diana Taurasi from the Phoenix Mercury were also included. This led not one but many fans to question why Durant was in the picture.

A fan tweeted, “Why’s my guy Kevin Durant on this? 😂 @KDTrey5.” To that, Durant replied by saying, “It’s a good luck from 2 of the greatest olympians in basketball.”

Given Durant and Taurasi’s history of performing at one of the biggest stages in the world, the two-time NBA champion could not have come up with a better response.

Team US’ win draws the attention of Natalia Bryant

Team US’ win over Vietnam was truly extraordinary. Sophia Smith shined the brightest during the game, scoring two goals for the team early on. This was followed by the last goal scored by Lindsey Horan for Team US.
