Such longevity from three era-defining superstars is not only rare, but unheard of. However, one day, all three legend’s careers would come to an end. The void left by them will be humongous. While the fans will dread that day, a new crop of superstars are already beginning to emerge.

In the recently concluded press conference during the All-Star Game media duties, veteran All-Star Kevin Durant predicted the next wave of era-defining superstars. He said, “I think each era has 5-6 guys that help carry the game forward, push the game forward… I look around the league, you see Shai, Ant (Edwards), Book, Luka, Tyrese Maxey, Tyrese Haliburton. It’s so many guys that inspire the next generation of hoopers after them to become a basketball players.”

Players like Luka Dončić, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and Anthony Edwards are beginning to establish themselves as bona fide superstars of the league. Their exceptional performances, coupled with their otherworldly talents, have the potential to attract a larger audience to the NBA. With Luka, Shai, Ant Edwards and Devin Booker leading the way, the NBA can reach stratospheric levels of popularity, reminiscent of the glory days of the 1990s.
