The Minnesota Timberwolves 7-foot player is running riot in the NBA. One of the primary reasons for the revival of the Timberwolves is their cornerstone, Karl-Anthony Towns. He is guiding his team on both, the offensive and the defensive.
By averaging an outstanding 21.6 points per game, Towns is becoming a force to be reckoned with. And so, bells are being rung of how he is the best second man for a franchise.

On the “Locked On” podcast, Adam Mares and Wes Goldberg spoke about how effective Towns is currently for the Timberwolves. Mares said, “I feel like Towns this season has gracefully become the team’s second guy. They are not playing through as much, but when they do go to him, he’s looking to be a part of the machinery. Be aggressive, looking to scoring, looking to pass, and set the table.”

He added “And last week he had a phenomenal game-winner but in the lead-up to the game-winner he had a great skip pass where he had an open look, kicks it to the corner for an even better look to Anthony Edwards. And to me, it was a symbolic thing of it is better for us to get the best shot possible”. Goldberg further went on to agree with Mares and said that Edwards is the “Alpha” of the Timberwolves, but due to Towns, this “non-alphaness” is what is working for the team.

Karl-Anthony Towns’ attacking range is a wonder, combining skill and strength. He represents the current NBA big man, with a scoring average that reflects his ability to be effective and move opponents with a solid outside shooting. His true shooting percentage of 60% demonstrates efficiency as well as adaptability, indicating a player who can score in a variety of ways.
Why is Towns a “good problem” for his team?
Karl-Anthony Towns’ 23 points and 11 rebounds, highlighted his importance on both sides of the court and justified his contract. The Timberwolves’ two-big combination, which included Towns and Rudy Gobert, was strong, clinching their third consecutive victory and tenth in 11 games. Towns is currently locked in for 5 years with the Minnesota Timberwolves in a whopping $158,253,000 contract.
But, despite being the stronger overall player, some analysts emphasize Towns as potentially filling a role that a less expensive alternative on the squad may fill. The fact, however, is that with Towns on the team, the Timberwolves are thriving. This is offering a “good problem” of excess talent rather than scarcity for the Timberwolves.
