Portland Trail Blazers superstar Damian Lillard is yet to find a new home this offseason. Ever since Lillard hinted at his intent to exit the Blazers, the NBA world awaits the million-dollar update. However, even months after the 2023 playoffs, he couldn’t land a team. Importantly, this drama gave rise to plenty of opinions and debates from pundits and fans. Notably, an NBA legend recently trashed Kevin Durant while making his opinion on the 7x NBA All-Star.
The 2x Finals MVP Durant often faced criticism despite his high-quality game on the hardwood. And, the ultimate reason behind the criticism is his intent to swap teams often. In his 15-season-long career, he has represented four teams. Even though many players have represented multiple teams in their careers, KD stood out. Fans criticized him for jumping teams instead of leading his initial team to glory; especially after he moved to Golden State Warriors from the Oklahoma City Thunder.

While a lot of legends like Charles Barkley stood against Damian Lillard‘s wish to switch teams, Dr. J supported his decision. However, in the meantime, he took a dig at the Phoenix Suns star.
While speaking in a podcast, Erving was completely against the idea of jumping teams in order to win championships.
He said, “The prisoners are running the show and not the warden… They have not helped the game… They have not helped to keep the parity within the game.” However, he didn’t have a problem with Dame, considering his age.

On the other hand, he took a sly dig at Kevin Durant. He said, “Just wanting to hop around, how many times Durant is off the rack… OKC to Golden State to, where did he go after that?”
This isn’t the first time KD faced such criticisms. Notably, he faces such criticism every year on the 4th of July.
