NBA players thrive on competition. When multiple superstars in the league go head-to-head against each other on a nightly basis, there are bound to be some heated battles. Fans wait for players to butt heads and start a new rivalry because that brings more excitement to the game and gives fans something to talk about. One such “Beef” came to life last year between superstars Devin Booker and Paul George.
Booker and PG got into a back-and-forth on social media after George’s question to Klay Thompson on his podcast. However, NFL legend Shannon Sharpe and former NBA star Gilbert Arenas nullified PG and Booker’s “Beef” during a detailed conversation.

Shannon Sharpe and Gilbert Arenas had a detailed discussion about Paul George and Devin Booker’s beef on an episode of Nightcap. Being a former NBA player, Arenas said this about the beef, “This is just court stuff.” According to Shannon and Arenas, fans love to give fire to an argument because they believe today’s players fraternize too much. That supposedly did not happen during the 90s. Shannon claimed that it was not possible to have a personal beef between players today because most players have known and played with each other since they were kids.
For example, LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony have been playing against each other since they were in high school. Zion Williamson and Ja Morant played in the same AAU team. That leads the players to be friends from an early age, and most of the animosity between them is on the court while playing basketball.
Beyond the court, they are still friends. That is what happened with Paul George and Devin Booker.

What happened between Paul George and Devin Booker?
PG and Booker have butted heads whenever they face each other on the court. But their “beef” caught fire last year after Klay Thompson made an appearance on Paul George’s podcast. PG asked Klay about his biggest trash-talking moments, where he mentioned Klay’s iconic 4-rings taunt on Devin Booker. Klay gave an honest response and claimed he was being insecure because Booker was dominating him in that game.
After the podcast was released, Booker asked PG on social media if that was the answer he was looking for. PG responded to Booker during a live gaming stream, “I don’t really care. That’s Klay answer.” The misunderstanding between the superstars turned into a talking point among fans. It is great to hear from two legends like Arenas and Sharpe that these things happen when players compete against each other. But that stuff never goes beyond the court.
