The Milwaukee Bucks are the frontrunners for the NBA title for the upcoming season. The Bucks have a strong and experienced core of players such as Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Brook Lopez. They have constantly been at the top of their conference for the past five to six years and they would like to continue that trend in the upcoming season. With Giannis’ contract extension on the line, the Bucks need to perform to keep hold of their franchise cornerstone.

The Milwaukee Bucks have to perform this season because if they don’t, Giannis could leave the Bucks. Giannis is not satisfied with just one NBA title, he wants to win more. And if the Bucks can’t satisfy his hunger for success, then he might look elsewhere. The NBA star is ambitious, and it’s completely understandable on his part as an entrepreneur and a basketball player. He says “I don’t want to be 20 years on the same team and don’t win another championship”.
On the other hand, Jrue Holiday has stated that he wants to end his career in Milwaukee and would like to sign a new contract. Jrue was the missing piece for the Bucks. In his first year as a Buck, Jrue won an NBA title. In a recent interview, Jrue expressed his interest in re-signing with the Bucks.

He said, “Would love to [sign an extension]. Before I even won here I think I said I’m a Buck for life and I mean that like deep in my heart. I don’t want to play for any other team. I think we have a chance to continue to do great things as the Bucks team and organization, so I want to be in Milwaukee.”
The PG will enter his 15th season next month, and his 4th one with the team. When Bucks acquired him before the 2020-21 season, the front office felt Jrue was probably not the best fit with Giannis and Khris. But, all of this considered, it could very well turn out to be an all-star-level gameplay at this point for him. But what about Giannis? Will he stay back for the team?

Will Giannis Sign an extension?
The main topic of conversation for most of the Bucks fans revolved around Giannis and his contract extension. The fans don’t want to see the back of a modern NBA great. Giannis wants to win and the Bucks will do everything in their power to help him achieve that goal.
The Bucks don’t have a big championship window, as most of their core players are on the wrong side of thirty. The Bucks can offer Giannis $169 million dollars over three years. But money won’t matter if Giannis thinks that the Bucks aren’t at the level of other contending teams such as Celtics, Nuggets and the Suns.
