After a humiliating loss against the Memphis Grizzlies, the Dallas Mavericks suffered yet another loss. But this time, the team turned on their competitive spirit and staged a magnificent comeback story. The Mavs had a sloppy start to their Saturday night game against the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Oklahoma team skyrocketed right from the word get-go, leaving Luka Doncic and his men to chase the lead. This went on until the Mavericks blew up.

The Mavs’ best player, Doncic, missed out on the last game after becoming a father. The team missed him on the court while falling short against the Grizzlies. Luka returned to the Saturday game, and it immediately turned on extra cylinders for the Mavs.

As much excitement and dominance as the Mavs produced at the end, the team succumbed to a poor performance in the start. The OKC continued to have a lead over the Mavs, right from the tip off.

However, it wasn’t the case when the team stepped into the fourth quarter. Trailing by 23 points behind the OKC, the Mavs staged a massive comeback. Minutes into the quarter, Luka Doncic & Co went on a hunting spree for over six minutes non-stop, dropping 30 points for 0, leaving the NBA world stunned. Following the 6-minute run, the team took a six-point lead.

Joel Embiid couldn’t contain his excitement after witnessing the spectacle. In response, the Philadelphia 76ers star took to his X handle and posted, “30-0??????”

Despite registering the longest run in the franchise history, the Mavs couldn’t take the game home, as the OKC held their nerves in the clutch for a 126-120 win.

Seth Curry pitched in the most, dropping three crucial three-pointers, followed by Luka Doncic and Dereck Lively II, who dropped 7 and 6 points, respectively. Apart from them, Derrick Jones dropped 5 points, including a three-pointer. While the attention majorly fell on the offense, on the defensive end, the Mavs forced 6 turnovers on the OKC. Nevertheless, the Thunder equally bounced back after the domination by dropping crucial buckets to secure a decent lead. Luka ended the game with a massive triple-double, dropping 36 points with 15  rebounds and 18 assists.
