The Philadelphia 76ers were left stunned. Checking into the Chase Center, they were greeted by the Golden State Warriors who were short of a Klay Thompson. Moreover, Joel Embiid, a monster averaging 36 points, was returning from his injury spell. Tobias Harris was also back. It was always going to be an intense matchup – Curry vs Embiid. However, what we witnessed was eventually a lob-sided affair.

The Warriors brawled against the Sixers and snatched the win. Curry was superb, and Wiggins and Kuminga combined for an efficient scoring night. Yet, that wasn’t the end of the pain for Philly. Another concerning incident took place, one that could affect their eventual standings in the league. Joel Embiid might have re-injured himself.

It was the fourth quarter. The Bay was on a breathtaking run. Their anchor, Stephen Curry, had tapped into his inner conscience, one that shows no mercy. After knocking down a three, Embiid received the ball on the post. Draymond Green, one of the finest post defenders, lured him into losing the ball.

The fight for the loose ball began right there.

Bodies collided with one another. Embiid was the first to hit the deck. With the ball still bouncing around, Jonathan Kuminga pounced, allowing the Warriors to run in transition. His passion for the play was palpable. However, he unintentionally submitted his entire weight onto Embiid’s left knee, which extended in the opposite direction.

Wincing in pain, Embiid was in instant discomfort. Before witnessing his team crumble further, the reigning MVP called it a night and went to the locker room, calling it an early night. He finished with only 14 points, putting an end to his astonishing 30-point streak. Green’s hounding defense on the reigning MVP all night made it extremely tedious for him to score at will as he so regularly does. Tobias Harris led the scoring charge with 26 points.

For the Warriors, it felt like everyone was back in their prime. Green had a typical game. Andrew Wiggins could barely miss en route his 23 points and 3 steals performance. Kuminga made the most of his promotion to the starting lineup, scoring 24 and displaying tenacity. The head of the spear was once again, however, Stephen Curry.

It was a show of the highest caliber from the three-point marksman of the NBA. He scored 37, which included an array of fourth-quarter buckets that helped the Warriors build a comfortable lead in the later stages of the game. The 107-119 against one of the top sides this season is the confidence the Warriors were so longing for.

This might be their window. Klay Thompson will return soon, and he has been putting up stellar performances too. Green is back to his torturing defense, and Wiggins’ emotions say he is motivated once again. If this is how the Warriors look from now on, then hang on to your seats.
