During the 2023 WNBA All-Star Game, Jewell Loyd made history by showcasing her excellent scoring skills and helping Team Stewart defeat Team Wilson. Loyd came into the game as the league’s top scorer, and she more than met the expectations placed on her.
She rightfully received the honor of being named All-Star MVP for her outstanding effort. With this accomplishment, Loyd becomes the second player in the Seattle Storm franchise history to be selected as All-Star MVP. He’s now going to join the Swin Cash. She took home the All-Star MVP trophy that night. However, the “upgrade” it underwent has left NBA fans shocked.

The Seattle Storm guard got the game going quickly by making her opening three-point shot. She experienced a momentary slump, though, and sat on the bench for a while. But in the latter part of the second quarter, she settled into a routine, making back-to-back threes and continuing that momentum into the second half.
Loyd had already scored an incredible 25 points by the middle of the third quarter, and as she proceeded to make three-pointers. It became obvious she was close to surpassing the All-Star scoring record.
Loyd, who was playing against Team Wilson’s double-team, found a gap after grabbing an offensive rebound. And with just over two minutes left, she calmly sank another three-pointer to surpass the previous All-Star Game scoring record of 30 points. She concluded the game by scoring an incredible 31 points in the last minute of the game, in addition to four rebounds and six assists.
Her performance in the game earned her the 2023 MVP All-star trophy.
