The luxury tax currently is around $21 million for the Celtics, according to Spotrac. With Brown’s super-max extension looking imminent, the Celtics might have to prepare to pay upwards of $21 million.
This figure might take them ahead of the Miami Heat, who pay $24 million. Interestingly, even the Heat will have to pay a huge luxury tax considering all the Damian Lillard rumors. The Portland Trail Blazers star’s move is looking closer than ever and might happen anytime soon.
