The latest update about the season-ending surgery created a massive emotional wave in the NBA world. Ja Morant, who already missed 25 games, played only nine games after his return. And, the reports stated that the Memphis Grizzlies star would step on the court only in the next season. Amid this situation, NBA legend Jamal Crawford and WNBA legend Candace Parker had a bit of important advice to keep the 24-year-old in the right space during the recovery.

Morant injured his shoulder during a practice session on Saturday and sat out for the team’s next game against the Phoenix Suns. Later, the MRIs revealed that the star had sustained a Labrum tear. Looking at the severity of the injury, Ja required surgery to fix the issue, which will in turn put him out for the rest of the season.

When Morant returned to the team and revived the team, the pundits discussed the Grizzlies’ possibilities in playoffs. It also went down the drain after the injury.

In the latest live telecast of NBA TV with Crawford and Parker in the panel, the host asked whether the Grizzlies have a chance at the postseason after Ja’s exit. Immediately, both panelists agreed that it didn’t matter anymore. Instead, they focussed on keeping the franchise spearhead happy and healthy during the recovery. Particularly, Crawford said, “Getting Ja healthy, happy and keeping those vets with him…keep them there because, I think that can stabilize their organization.”

Crawford also highlighted that the team should keep the veterans Derrick Rose and Marcus Smart for the next season with Ja Morant. Parker stated that the Grizzlies are yet to find their right mix and highlighted that Morant’s return would again be a rebuilding phase.

The last time when Ja Morant wasn’t on the court, the 24-year-old had got into all sorts of trouble. Morant got himself suspended after he displayed a gun twice on Instagram Live.

Apart from that he also allegedly engaged in violent behavior against a teenager. At the same, it’s quite hard to write off the star that he would repeat his actions. He missed 25 games because of his actions and it not only affected him but also put his team in an embarrassing situation.
