The Memphis Grizzlies have had the worst possible start to the 2023-24 season. The team has only managed to win only 3 games in their 14-game run so far. And Ja Morant’s absence played a huge role in the team’s troubling times. The same side clocked in 51 wins and finished second in the Western Conference in the last season. However, things can take a turn, as Morant will be available after 11 more games, and the 24-year-old star seems more determined to get back on the court than ever. He recently revealed three things that he is grateful for amidst the Thanksgiving day spirits.

The Grizzlies star has been undergoing a necessary arc in his NBA career. The team’s valuable asset went through a roller-coaster ride because of his questionable actions during the last season. And importantly, he is paying the price for it, with a 25-game suspension. The star’s recent social media activity hinted that he was waiting to don the Grizzlies jersey again.

Ja Morant stirred up the NBA world during the back end of the last season. Even after multiple warnings, the star flashed a gun on his Instagram Live, leaving the league with no option other than slapping a suspension on him. Until then, Morant had been actively using social media, and he suddenly went on a sabbatical.

The All-Star barely used his social media handles in the off-season, apart from reacting to the Grizzlies’ off-season trades. In the same spirit, he recently took to IG stories to reveal three things that he is grateful for. Ja shared a post on his stories that read, “Hey god, it’s me again, thank you,” followed by images of things he is grateful for.

First, he shared a picture of his left shoulder near his triceps, which had a lot of tattoos, but a big ‘M’ stood out of the lot. ‘M’ signifies his college, Murray State University.

Secondly, he shared a picture of another tattoo, which carried the letters, MBNO. It stands for “My Brothers No Others”. The star had also begun a clothing and accessories brand under this title.

Finally, he shared a picture of his parents, Tee Morant and Jamie Morant. The Morant couple are very supportive of their son. Father Tee Morant almost watches every game sitting courtside. While the star is gearing up for his first game, the Grizzlies are sinking into deep water.

Grizzlies so far in the season

The team carried out two major trades ahead of the season, Marcus Smart and Derrick Rose. But, it hasn’t had any effect on the team’s performance on the court. None of the stars have stepped in the absence of Ja. Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. have been the lone warriors who are currently delivering the goods. The situation could change once the star re-joins the team, but the current roster should make sure that the 25-game suspension isn’t too late for a revival.
