The Memphis Grizzlies got their zeal back after the return of their superstar, Ja Morant. But it all came crashing down with an unfortunate update coming out from the Grizzlies’ management. Ja Morant injured his shoulder during the Saturday practice session. Later, the MRI scans revealed that he had sustained a Labrum Tear. Moreover, the surgery would end Ja’s dream run this season.
The Grizzlies Nation played the waiting game for the first 25 games of the season, as Morant was serving his suspension. The fandom achieved a new low to an extend where Anthony Edwards himself commented on the fans. He said, “The fans was dead.. I’ve never played in Memphis like this,” during the post game interview. However, Morant’s return revived the fandom, put them back on map. But it only lasted for 9 games.

Until Ja Morant’s return, the Grizzlies managed to win only 5 games. But after his return, the team looked locked in and looked to climb up the West ladder. Importantly, he made his return with a spellbinding game-winning bucket against the New Orleans Pelicans. The star’s inclusion immediately reflected on the morale of the side, as they went on to win consecutive games.
However, it didn’t last long for the Grizzlies, as the 24-year-old injured his shoulder during Saturday’s practice session. He also missed his game against the Phoenix Suns, as he sat on the courtside. Later, the MRI scan revealed that he sustained a labrum tear. And the surgery would put him out for the rest of the season. Moreover, he is expected to recover right before the 2024-25 season.
Following the announcement, Morant took his X handle and dropped a blue heart.
