Phoenix Suns superstar Kevin Durant has a history with the Bay Area team and it’s a big one. After winning two rings in his 3-season stay at the Dubs, KD has found himself in championship contention again. However, the superstar still seems to have a reminiscence about his former team. Following the Chris Paul trade to the Dub Nations, the Slim Reaper made his comment on the veteran point guard’s fit on the side.
Durant paired up with CP3 in the last season, when he moved to the Valley side in a blockbuster trade. The team-up had a reasonably good season as they reached till the Conference semifinals. Nevertheless, the partnership didn’t last long, as the Dubs roped in Paul during the 2023 off-season. Months after the trade, KD gave out his first reaction on Paul’s place on the team.

Ever since Chris Paul made his way to the Warriors, he has been making it to the headlines for various reasons. Notably, the one which caught the attention of the fans was that he played off the bench for the first time in his 19-season-long career. Despite all the noise surrounding CP3’s fit in the side, the head coach, Steve Kerr, finds him as the leader of the 2nd unit. On the other hand, his former teammate, Kevin Durant, also had a similar opinion on the veteran PG.
During the Warriors’ In-season Tournament opening game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, KD joined a live chat on NBA Hooper Vision, as special guest and made several opinions on the intense matchup.
However, when it came down to his former Suns teammate Chris Paul, he had an interesting take.

Durant said, “It’s Like Two Draymonds.” Considering KD’s bumpy journey with Draymond Green, it’s still unclear in what sense he meant about it. However, given the role, both Green and Paul play the leadership roles on the side.
Despite KD’s bitter-sweet relationship with Green, he had a strong opinion on DrayMagic’s leadership skills.

KD hails Green’s leadership skills
KD’s Warriors stint came down crashing after he sustained a season-ending injury in 2019. Apart from that, fans also witnessed a few instances of Green going off at KD on the court. Despite all that, he made a positive opinion on Green’s leadership skills in a one-on-one interaction in 2021, reported NBC Sports.
He said, “You pushed it to a limit where it’s like it’s cool for me to be who I am and not apologize for it all the time because you don’t mean no harm to anybody, but s**t that you wanted done, you wanted done.”
