“It’s a Nightmare”: Amid Nikola Jokic’s Viral Serbian Dancing Clips, 76ers Legend Sings Praises of NBA Champion

Serbian superstar Nikola Jokic has been the name on everyone’s lips for a major chunk of 2023. After all, he led the Denver Nuggets to their first NBA title for the first time in franchise history. After winning the MVP for the past two consecutive years, The Joker finally got his hands on the famed NBA title in 2023. Naturally, eminent voices from across the NBA world have dropped their praises on the Serbian superstar. Philadelphia 76ers legend Charles Barkley was the latest one to do so.

He recently joined Bill Simmons of The Ringer for his podcast where Chuck drew some comparisons between Jokic and one of his former teammates.

28-year-old Nikola Jokic has completely reformed the NBA over the past few seasons. With immaculate passing vision and a basketball IQ like no other, the 5-time NBA All-Star is a nightmare for the defenders.

Former MVP Charles Barkley agrees with this claim. While talking with Simmons, they touched upon how a majority of Luka Doncic’s points last season were uncontested.

That’s when Barkley mentioned how that is not favorable for his teammates. The NBA Hall of Famer then talked about how The Joker is different from other players.

“I played with one guy who reminds of playing with The Joker. His name was Cedric Ceballos. This dude never stopped moving and it took so much pressure off of me”, said Barkley on The Bill Simmons podcast.

He further asserted, “If I am one of Joker’s teammates, all I have to do is move and he will find me. It is a nightmare for the defense because there is no thing like keep an eye on the ball and your man. No, no, no, you can’t do that thing with Joker”.

This kind of praise is not unwanted for Nikola Jokic. After his stellar performance during the 2023 playoffs, Jokic has received love from all around the NBA world. Moreover, a huge chunk of fans and media personalities have claimed that he might retire as the best center in NBA history.
