Paul George has been around in the NBA for as long as one can remember. Starting with the Indiana Pacers, he later joined the Oklahoma City Thunder. In 2019, he joined the LA Clippers, and it looks like he will be spending the twilight years of his career in the Clippers. Now that retirement is around the corner after a 14-year-long journey, the question of what reputation he will leave behind comes up.

It goes without saying that being an NBA star comes with a lot of pressure; there are expectations players have to meet and legacies to build along the way. In the end, the goal is to leave a lasting impression. This sits down very well with Paul George. In the interview, Paul tells Taylor that people tend to think he isn’t the same as before, because of some injuries, or because he doesn’t have a championship in his name. He adds to this, “

Or one bad experience in the playoffs that, you know, I’m not good enough to still be a one option or two options or 25-30 point scorer or top defender on the floor.”

Paul makes sure that regardless of whether he wins a championship or not, he will give it his all as he has always done. One thing’s for sure, Paul will have no regrets, as he has put his heart and soul into every match. He says, “

My legacy now is being ‘all right I did what I could. I gave it my all, I know how I approach the game. I want to be the best on both floors, I want to guard the best every night.'”

Paul wants fans and the like to perceive him as a player who gives it all, enjoys challenging games, and brings something to the game when he gets onto the court. He wants to be seen as a player who entertains the audience and inspires others with his passion.

Being good is a weakness in the game

The ‘PG-13’ admits that his ‘good guy’ persona has overclouded the discussion of his performance in the game, “I think, you know, I’m naturally just a good dude um and I feel like in this league, it kind of just been taken for granted.” He understands that the game demands everyone to be their toughest. It has “gotten to a point where like at some point, all right now you woke the bully.
