Is Kelsey Plum Dyslexic? WNBA Star’s Latest Comment on Bizarre NBA All-Star Court Raises Concern

The NBA All-Star Celebrity Game finished on a high note as Team Shannon Sharpe took home the win. Both the teams gave it equal effort, and despite Kai Cenat’s wishes to become MVP, Micah Parsons received that honor. But what’s befuddling social media right now is something else entirely. Or a certain someone – Kelsey Plum.

The 2x WNBA champion’s thoughts on the All-Star LED court have left X (formerly Twitter) completely confused. Mid-game, Plum was asked what she thought of Indy’s LED court. Her reply was, “Well, I’m dyslexic, so still trying to figure it out.” 

While this user might give her props for not being shy, another user seems to have a hard time believing that.

This next one repeats what Plum says, probably trying to make sense of the whole statement.

And again, another one adds just a reaction to Kelsey’s comment. “Huhhhh.”

Finally, this user finds another one’s GIF image on Kelsey’s admission to be unwarranted. He tweets, “Rude,” to the same.

Well, we can be sure that the Las Vegas Aces guard wouldn’t say something like this on National TV without meaning it. But not to worry, she is not alone. Team Stephen A.’s assistant coach and fellow teammate, A’Ja Wilson, has mentioned how she’s struggled with dyslexia.

The 27-year-old power forward was diagnosed with the condition when she was a sophomore in high school. But the fighter that she is never let it define her life. Rather, A’ja took courage from it to shape her into the person and player she envisioned herself to be.

The genuinely smiling Plum that we see now didn’t happen easily. She had some difficult times to go through. Yet, she came out of it like a champion.

While the rest of the world was lauding Kelsey for her remarkable achievements at the collegiate level, Plum was questioning her identity. Until a few hours ago, Kelsey Plum held the record for the highest scores in the NCAA women’s division with 3,527 points. Caitlin Clark now became the All-Time scorer with 3,569 points.

But even so, no one came close to challenging Plum for almost seven-plus years. From the outside, it looked like Kelsey was living her life, signing endorsements, negotiating deals, and more. But, on the inside, she was a young girl out of college battling anxiety and depression. But when her rookie season didn’t turn out the way people envisioned, Kelsey realized just how much value one should attach to outside noise.

“The biggest life lesson that I’ve taken away … is people’s opinions do not make up your value as a person,” she confidently said during an interview with Sports Spectrum. And that was the turning point in her life. Her Christian faith also played a huge role in helping her overcome adversities.

From there, she decided to focus on just her well-being. And we all know where that has led to Plum.
