Is the Golden State Warriors dynasty nearing its end? This is not the first time this question has been raised. After the Warriors hit a snag in 2019-20, ending up with one of the worst records in the league, everyone thought it was over for them. However, they made a triumphant return, winning the 2022 NBA Championship. With four championships in eight years, they were the newest dynasty on the rise. However, the engine that powered their historic runs seems to have run out of steam. But is it time to write them off?
Stephen Curry is still holding out hope for a better future. Although the Warriors sit outside the top 8 in the West, the 35-year-old has managed to find a silver lining in their early season inconsistency.

After finishing the game with 33 points and a “night-night” celebration to clinch a 132-126 victory against the Boston Celtics, Curry sat down to address the ongoing chatter. According to Curry, this “nitpicking” has been going on for years. “They always find something to nitpick, and that’s because there’s expectations for us to win.” It was the same back before they won the 2022 chip and silenced the skeptics. Therefore, he is not too fazed by the current discourse.

Even though the Warriors are in the 11th spot in the West, the Chef is all about taking a one-game-at-a-time approach. The Dubs are not worried about proving that they are a threat but are rather focusing on winning right now. As he puts it, this early-season struggle gives the team the “juice” to perform better. “Cause you feel a sense of urgency and you are not really taking anything for granted,” stated the 4x NBA Champion.
Even though the Warriors’ leader refuses to concede that the dynasty might be raging towards its grave, let’s take a look at their current state of affairs.

The Warriors’ Big 3 of Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green was a crucial combination that paved the way for the franchise’s success. However, Klay Thompson does not look like the player he was anymore. That being said, he has shown flashes of his championship self in the past four games. Coming to their defensive anchor, Draymond Green is in hot waters, navigating a league-mandated “indefinite” suspension. Many speculated that this might push the Warriors’ season off the rails. However, the team seems more on pace since his suspension, with three wins in the last four games without him.
Even key players like Andrew Wiggins seemed to be crumbling. But he, too, has improved since Steve Kerr decided to switch up the lineup, starting Brandin Podziemski in his place. Stephen Curry has been performing at an elite level, and with the supporting cast finally stepping up, they might still have a chance to salvage this season.
